Mount Moriah proudly welcomes Pastor Norman Andronicus Harris of Tampa, Florida, as our Homecoming guest preacher. A noted attorney, public servant, and committed pastor, he joins us alongside the members of A House of the Living God for Homecoming 2026: Rooted2Rise.

Homecoming gathers current members, those who have moved away, relatives, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the faith and relationships that connect us. We remember the generations whose prayers, sacrifices, and service sustained this church, while welcoming new people into its unfolding story. Our roots in Christ and our African American heritage remind us that we inherit both a blessing and a responsibility to nurture those who follow.

Rooted2Rise calls us to draw strength from that inheritance as we grow together in faith, service, and love. Join us this Sunday, wear purple or African attire, and stay for Dinner on the Grounds following worship. We come home to remember who we are and rise together toward what God is calling us to become.
For generations, Mount Moriah has been a place where faith takes root, families find strength, and neighbors become community. Caring for this campus honors the sacrifices of those who built and sustained it while preparing it for those who will follow. Our sanctuary improvements and upcoming roof work protect the spaces where we worship, teach our children, comfort grieving families, and organize for the good of our community. This is stewardship of a sacred inheritance, with our eyes on another century of service.

Through Rooted2Rise, we affirm that strong roots carry a responsibility to nurture future growth. Securing our campus means preserving a welcoming, dependable home for ministries that will meet needs we can already see and challenges we have yet to imagine. Every Building Fund gift and every purchase from the Mount Moriah Store helps advance that work. Together, we can pass on a church campus to the next generation, equipped to sustain its calling, with room for new voices, new ministries, and new possibilities.
TRIBUTE | Together, we honored our roots and renewed the bonds that help us rise. This year’s celebration honored the memory of Mother Mary Ann Lawrence, who faithfully served Mount Moriah in ministry until her passing in 2019. Her legacy of faith, love, and service continues to bless our church family.
