Mount Moriah believes Health and Wellness are essential to building our communities. If the fact that the United States has the highest maternal and infant mortality rates among comparable developed countries is not bad enough, the survival rates for African American mothers and their infants are even more dismal.
African American women across the income spectrum and from all walks of life are dying from preventable pregnancy-related complications at three to four times the rate of non-Hispanic white women, while the death rate for black infants is twice that of infants born to non-Hispanic white mothers.

Why Support the March of Dimes?

Francys Johnson and Meca Williams-Johnson have been longtime supporters of the March of Dimes. Inspired to support after the premature birth of their second son, the late Frederick Douglass Caleb Johnson, the Church supports this Annual 5K as a special tribute to our Little Angel Frederick Douglass.

To join the Ministry Shamrock 5K Run team, contact Meca Williams-Johnson. The Team will meet at Davis Bozeman Johnson Law, 208 West Hall Street, Savannah, Georgia, at 5:30 pm on March 1, 2023, to go over to the 5K Run as a Team. After the 5K, join us at Zunzi's for Dinner!
